Environment Management

At MERT DOKUM, we are committed to safeguarding our precious resources and the environment. We uphold this commitment by continually enhancing our sustainability initiatives. This includes the expansion of our recycling programs, ongoing research into environmentally friendly materials, and the continuous improvement of our production processes to minimize energy, water, and raw material consumption. As a result, 40% of our annual product output is crafted from recycled materials. We invite you to join us in our vision to protect the environment and construct a greener future.

Recycling

From expanding recycling programs to finding new ways to use environmentally friendly materials to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce consumption of energy, water and raw materials, MERT is looking for new ways to save resources and protect the environment. Thus, every year, 40% of our products come from recycled materials.

Waste Management

Filtration systems are used in our production facilities to reduce the environmental impact of industrial waste gas. In this way, we can prevent the release of 10,000 tons of waste into nature every year, thus leaving a safe world for future generations.

Afforestation

We contribute to a green environment by planting trees and afforestation to prevent climate change in the areas where we operate It is an important strategy for combating deforestation, reducing carbon emissions, and mitigating the effects of climate change.

Trees play a crucial role in regulating the Earth's climate. They absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and produce oxygen, which is essential for human and animal life. Trees also help to maintain the water cycle by absorbing water from the soil and releasing it into the atmosphere through a process called transpiration. This process helps to regulate the temperature and humidity of the air and prevents soil erosion and flooding.

Afforestation has numerous benefits, both for the environment and for human communities. It can help to reduce soil erosion, improve soil quality, and increase biodiversity by providing habitat for a wide range of plant and animal species. Trees can also provide shade, which can help to cool the surrounding environment and reduce the energy needed for air conditioning in hot climates.

Afforestation can also provide economic benefits for communities. Trees can be used for timber production, which can provide jobs and income for local people. They can also be used for non-timber forest products, such as fruit, nuts, and medicinal plants, which can provide additional income for local communities.
